Lincoln Puts Roots Down in Louisville to Support New MKC Crossover

2015 MKC crossoverLincoln is really betting big on its all-new compact crossover, the 2015 Lincoln MKC. They’ve even brought Matthew McConaughey into the fold, hiring him as their new spokesperson—and he’ll be doing quite a bit of promotion for the MKC, in fact. Lincoln is also pouring money and manpower into the Louisville Assembly Plant, where the MKC will be built.

The Lincoln Motor Company has pumped $129 million into the plant and also hired 300 new employees to support MKC production. The new crossover is the second of four all-new Lincoln models, all of which will be on the street by 2016. “Lincoln MKC is an important part of Lincoln as it attracts a new luxury customer,” Daryl Sykes, manager of the Louisville Assembly Plant said. “To have the opportunity to build an all-new vehicle—the first small utility ever from Lincoln—is very exciting for the hardworking men and women at Louisville Assembly Plant.”

The MKC represents a significant departure for the Lincoln Motor Company, switching their focus away from a corporate image and towards a younger customer market. Come by Lincoln of Troy to check out the MKC and hear all about Lincoln’s plans, both current and future.
