The new Lincoln MKX SUV has been totally redesigned for the 2016 model year, and has become the latest progression in Lincoln’s plan to reinvigorate the luxury brand by refocusing efforts on core models. The 2016 MKX has already won over several fans, managing to nab the number-nine spot on the US News & World Report‘s list of best midsize luxury SUVs.
Lincoln rep Tom Lynch spoke at a premiere reception for the new MKX’s launch recently, in which he mentioned that Lincoln’s plan is working smoothly and well. Sales have gone up 20-percent nationally since this same time last year, and over the past few years the average age range of Lincoln customers has steadily fallen. While the average is still around 55-56, this gradual decline shows a shift in Lincoln’s demographic as the company switches gears. The MKX is the latest installment in this plan, and dealers report customers of all walks of life are already expressing excitement and interest in the SUV.
Reports say that the MKX is even luring loyal consumers from other brands. With features like an available turbocharged engine, a 19-speaker sound system, leather interior accents, and new exterior sheet metal, the 2016 Lincoln MKX SUV is dressed to the nines and made to impress newcomers to the luxury segment.
