The Lincoln MKZ has been influenced by more than just standard design, its style isn’t just a look or a visual, it’s the feeling the car induces that makes it special. Soo Kang, interior design for The Lincoln Motor Company, is a cellist especially influenced by music, and used the MKC as a functional, 3D representation of her passion.
Through the MKC’s design, Kang engages all senses, creating an emotional connection from the clean, sleek and uncluttered design.

“The whole team has to be in rhythm; if someone misses a note, the customer, or audience, if you will, notices. This can create frustration or confusion,” Kang said in a recent BusinessWire article.
One example of this engineering and design harmony in the Lincoln MKC is the gear shift. Instead of a traditional shifter, buttons are used. The center area has been opened up, adding a new and unique visual appeal. Kang also chose rich interior materials to compliment the overall design, including Deepsoft leather from Bridge of Weir.
The MKC just wrapped up its “Lincoln MKC: Engage Your Senses” tour, which explored how luxury automotive design and classical music use balance, harmony, tempo and emotion to create incredible pieces.
