The summer heat is upon us and, while it may seem like the inside of your car is as hot as a volcano, have no fear! There are plenty of easy, cheap ways to keep your car cool in summer. While most of these may seem obvious, quite a few people seem to overlook them. To make sure you stay extra cool this summer, we’ve got some tips to help you beat the summer heat.
- Park in the shade. While you may have the perfect opportunity to grab that front row parking spot at work, it may not be the best choice. Your car will be much hotter after the sun beats down on it all day. Parking in the shade and walking a little farther is a great, free way to keep your car cooler.
- Cover your steering wheel. No one lines burning their hands when they’re trying to steer their car. Now, you don’t have to. It doesn’t take much to lower the temperature of your steering wheel. Putting a barrier, like a small towel, between the steering wheel and sun can save you some time when you’re ready to drive.
- Use a sunshade. A sunshade is a proven method to lower the temperature of your vehicle. If your car is in the sun for long periods of time, it may be for the best if you put some money into a basic sun shade to help keep your car cool in summer.
