What inspires you? For Lincoln’s color and materials designers, they can glean inspiration from almost anything, but fashion in particular. These inspirations are transformed and incorporated in Lincoln’s all-new MKC’s interior design.
“Seeing something as simple as elaborate stitching on a handbag or an accent color on a designer jacket can really impact our design strategy,” said Lincoln designer Jenny Kubinec.
From the time the MKC’s color and materials designers began considering color options for the vehicle to the time the first customers sat in the all-new model with its inspired colors and fabrics, three years passed. Talk about an eye for detail.
In addition to its well-dressed interior, Lincoln’s first small premium utility vehicle also comes available in trend-setting colors like Tahitian Pearl (a plum color), Midnight Sapphire, and Smoked Quartz based on the 2015 fashion color report by Pantone®.
“With the MKC targeting a younger, savvy customer, we wanted to offer a trend color that was a little more daring and adventurous,” said Janet Seymour, manager of the MKC’s interior design. “[Tahitian Pearl is] a bold, dramatic color that sets Lincoln apart.”
